I had a similar problem and found that I was cutting on advanced with the color settings. following the color, it states what type of medium you are cutting. Even though I had set my blade and such on cardstock, the medium following the color said Heat Transfer Vinyl. Once I clicked on that and changed it to cardstock, it cut beautifully.
